Engineer for the Week Activity with Facebook Engineer

Celebrate Lights On Afterschool with Facebook and the Afterschool Alliance by participating in this virtual coding event. The program designer from Facebook's Engineer for the Week program will help lead students through a Lights On themed coding activity using Scratch!

Take this opportunity to practice your coding instruction, discover the Engineer for the Week program and learn how you could be eligible for participation in a raffle for a $500 or $200 facilitator stipend. All attendees will be entered into a raffle for a $25 gift card. Register here!

Intended audience: Middle school students + program facilitators

Pre-event materials & downloads: Each group of participating students will need one computer with the ability to connect the internet to access the https://scratch.mit.edu/ website. Students and facilitators will be guided through an activity using Scratch programming. All levels of experience with Scratch are welcome to participate.
