Afterschool & Beyond is a statewide conference for the staff of programs and organizations serving youth during out-of-school time.  This conference is open to all school-based and community-based programs, that cover youth in elementary through high school during the school year and/or summer. Topics during this year’s conference will include: Youth Leadership, Family Engagement, Trauma Informed Strategies, Volunteer Managements, Career Readiness, STEM, Social Emotional Learning and much more!

Lodging:

MSU dorm rooms and a local hotel block are available on a first-come first-served basis. We HIGHLY recommend that you make lodging arrangements ASAP. 

JUST ADDED! Homewood Suites has opened a room block of single and double suites, which include breakfast and a light dinner Mon-Thu.

 MSU Yellowstone Hall will have a limited number of single and double-occupancy dorm rooms available at an extremely reasonable rate.  To register for campus housing, please go here and follow the prompts.

 Lewis and Clark Motel, a newly remodeled and locally owned motel, also has a selection of double-occupancy rooms available.  The only way to secure the reduced room rate is by booking directly with them via their website or phone.  For the promo/access code and more information click here

 Local VRBO and Airbnb rentals are another great option for solo attendees, or teams wanting to stay together.

 We are hoping to have additional room blocks available, so check back. Summer is high tourist season in beautiful Bozeman, MT, so no matter where you plan to stay, we recommend you book early for the best availability and prices. 

Parking:

There are several options for parking during the conference.  You will be responsible for securing a parking permit for each day you attend.  You may do so ahead of time here.

Permits can also be purchased at the Parking Services/University Police Office at S. 7th Ave and Kagy Blvd.

If you choose this option, please allow time to purchase your permits as well as find a spot to park.  Either way you purchase your parking permit, it will be $5/day.

 If you would like to park in the parking garage which is closest to the SUB, the cost is $10/day.  These spots are available on a first-come first-served basis and can only be paid for on site with a debit or credit card.

Additional Information:

STEM Summit 2019 included for FREE: This half day ‘un-conference" will allow for informal and formal teachers, program facilitators, business leaders and academics to come together to share knowledge, expertise and visions for providing and growing STEM opportunities and exposure for school-aged youth in Montana. This portion will take place on the morning of Thursday, August 8th.

Particularly interested in STEM/Science Offerings?: Our conference has been scheduled to align with the Montana Science Summer Institute being held August 6th & 7th in the same location. A unique opportunity to easily take in two exciting and engaging conferences the same week!

For 21st CCLC Grantees:

This conference meets the professional development requirements for 21st CCLC grantees and will coincide with the required grant meeting to be held the afternoon of Wednesday, August 7th. If you will be representing your 21st CCLC program, please register for the meeting as well as the conference.

OPI staff will also be on site for program support.
